Isn’t it amazing to see what can happen in a week? Last week Newt Gingrich was on top of the
world after taking South Carolina and he all you could hear from everyone was
about the rise of Newt. He was hailed as
the next contender to face off against Obama and it really got people
talking. Next up was Florida and as
quickly as Newt had gained momentum he seemed to be losing it. With advantages in money and organizational
stability Mitt Romney was and remains in control. So everything Newt took away from winning
South Carolina seems to be wasted. Most
news outlets aren’t giving Newt any chance against Romney tomorrow. Polls seem to also be trending heavily
against Newt which makes you really wonder if Newt ever really had all the
supposed momentum the media put behind him you would think he would be set up
for a better run in Florida. With
Florida being much less radically conservative Gingrich who has set himself as
the total conservative is struggling against Romney with less overall
support. That being said it doesn’t
appear anyone is giving Newt a chance tomorrow and the media seems to be
pushing that message. It’s interesting
to think about how large of a role the media has on how people vote and the
outcome of the primary.
