Current

I started watching Current after we had talked about this channel in class. In comparison to CNN and MSNBC, which are the channels that I typically get my news from I found that they were very straight forward and to the point.
While watching a segment of Countdown on Current Monday night I found the coverage to be very informative and I wasn’t tempted to change the channel after five minutes.  In the segment Keith Olbermann and his guest were assessing the use of negative campaign ads by previous Republican candidates and how the current candidate’s strategies are different.  The segment was actually educational and accurate, based on what I know and have learned about campaign ads and negative campaigning.  If more Americans watched segments like this, we could have a much more informed electorate than we do now.
But it’s unfortunate that they don’t have the same demand as other mainstream media sources.  If they did, then maybe they wouldn’t have to have stories on the front of their website about prostitutes that have crush on Ron Paul. But we all know that sex sells, so while they might not be making profit they certainly are trying to attract readers and viewers using the some of the same old tricks as everybody else.
