Newt Changes Course, Can This Help?

In this article (http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/02/06/gingrich-goes-heavy-on-policy-light-on-punches/?mod=WSJ_elections_article_liveupdate) the author is discussing the move by Newt Gingrich away from harsh campaign like we saw in South Carolina and more towards a policy discussion. In the South Carolina primary there were many negative ads thrown out by lots of candidates, espcially Gingrich. Becuase of this onsluagth of attack ads and a more favorable electorate Newt was able to carry the state in what the media framed as a runaway victory. For many days after his win all the media wanted to talked about was what he was going to do as the nominee and how the Romney campaign could not come back from such a disastrous defeat. The mainstream media's coverage of the primary and predictions for the Florida primary were so very skewed toward Gingrich that many of the pundits have had to eat their words. After Gingrich got his one shot in at South Carolina, the Romney campaign with more money, and better organization was able to mount a crippeling attack in Florida and recement his lead. Since then he has been able to win a decisive victory in Nevada and is getting increasingly more support from segments of the party that previously supported other candidates. Now most of the media has jumped back on the Romney bandwaggon and is preparing for the next showdown, but not between Romney and Gingrich, but between Romney and Obama. Now that Gingrich has no momentum, is short on money and been all but forgotten by the media does he still stand a chance?
